Do you want to learn Russenorsk? If you are Norwegian or Russian, you’ve already made it half the way? Until the late 1920’s, Russenorsk, a pidgin language of both Russian and Norwegian, was formerly used by traders and fishermen along the coastline of the Barents Sea. Since 10% of Kirkenes` inhabitants are Russians we think it would be worth to revitalize this pidgin language by introducing a video lesson based on a research of the language which artistically refers to the ongoing road constructioning between Russia and Norway.
